Canfax Research Services
Canfax Research Services (CRS) is a division of the Canadian Cattlemen's Association. It was formed in January of
1990 to provide the CCA and its affiliates with accurate, up-to-date statistical information focusing on the
Canadian Beef Industry.
CRS is responsible for maintaining and organizing a data base of relevant information which has been collected by
the CCA and Canfax for the past several decades. This information is commercially available to people within the
industry, the government and other interested parties.
CRS focuses on a wide range of statistical information, specializing in the Canadian beef industry. CRS also
provides the CCA and its members with statistics concerning the world beef situation.
We offer expertise in the following areas:
- Beef and Cattle Trade - international and domestic
- Cattle Inventories and Prices
- Beef Production
- Feed Grain Statistics
- Consumption and consumer trends
- Market information and analysis
CRS offers a quarterly summary featuring pertinent statistics of the Canadian beef industry on both a national
and provincial basis. CRS also publishes a monthly price and slaughter report, containing fed and feeder cattle
prices provincially, as well as a cattle and calves slaughter/grading summary by province. The Canfax
Statistical Briefer is a one page summary available that provides domestic and world inventories, beef
production, trade, meat consumption and grain production.
